Peace, Be Still... and Life Goes On...

Today I went to church at Abundant Grace, an Assembly of God church.  The associate pastor, during a prayer time, said that if you were in a storm in your life right now, to remember that Jesus said, "Peace, be still" to the storm when He was in the boat with the disciples. Then the pastor started to sing, "Singing in the Rain, just singing in the rain..."

And I thought, Thank you Jesus! for that little personal sign from You and my Mom!!  :)  You see, Gene Kelly was one of my Mom's favorite dancers and Singing in the Rain was one of her favorite musicals!  How blessed I felt at that moment :)

So, life continues for the living.  The parting of a loved one does not end the lives of those who loved that person... although for a time, it sure feels that way.  The departed one would not want that for you, but it is difficult at times to just carry on.  Difficult to envision a future without them being there with you.

I started this blog for two reasons:  To help other van dwellers learn from my experiences, and to keep my Mom informed of my whereabouts and adventures. She was (and always has been) my Number One Fan.  She was quite happy for me in what I was doing and that I was enjoying the adventure.

I will carry this blog on.  I will continue to write as if I was writing for her... and I will feel sad when I don't see an email from her asking me more questions or making comments on what I wrote.  But we'll talk about it one day in Heaven, if we want to.

After church I went and purchased a number of photo frames for the display I plan to do at her memorial.  Dad is trusting this to me, and I think I have a unique idea to celebrate her life.  Will take pics to share.

Also, tonight will be Day #4 of our Geocaching Streak....  Mom would be proud of our joint adventure and  diligence :)
