While there he showed me the house he is moving into with 5 other buddies for next year. Their move-in date is June 15th. He decided to spend the summer in Corvallis, and even found a job while I was in town.
On Friday, we attended SING, a 77 year tradition for sororities and fraternities.
After that we tried to go to this place, with strange wall art.... for something to eat, but it had turned into a bar and my son couldn't go in:
On Saturday, after a quick breakfast in the student's eating area... I had fresh squeezed orange juice and G. paid with his university food card...
BTW - a note to my mother as she always made comments on G.'s pictures of food when he was on a Rotary Youth Exchange to Sweden. I explained to her that I had asked him to take pictures of what he ate because I wanted to see how differently they might eat from us. Well, lo and behold, I am not the only person who is into food pictures! I have recently heard that pictures of food are quite commonly taken on phone cameras, and are referred to as "Food Porn"! haha haha haha :)
and we looked around at some of the art displayed on the walls of building we were in. I seem to be currently attracted to Fiber Arts...
Then we walked over to the Wave Research Facility. It was awesome! They have two wave tanks... one was drained for the moment, but that was cool because you could see how they move the different plates on the bottom to adjust for their experiments.
And did you know they had a Nuclear Reactor on the OSU campus? I didn't, but now I do.
It was a very full day because then, we went to bowl, but decided instead to play pool...
and have some gelato at a place with great ambiance!
We took it easy the next day and mostly relaxed, but I rode along when my son went to interview for the job that was offered to him, like I said. I went into some other stores while I waited for him.
Later on, his inter-mural softball team played a game, and I was there to cheer them on!!

I've always loudly cheered my sons on in athletics. They can recognize my "Woo Hoo" from a way far off. I honestly don't know if they were ever actually embarrassed by my enthusiasm, but I always told that is who I am, and I think they accepted that. One high school football game, it was cold and the crowd was small. I was yelling some cheers and carrying on as usual... Evidently one of our team's players sidled up to my son on the sidelines and said, "That's your mom." and my son said, "Yeah. She's perma-fried."
Truth be known I never did drugs in school. But if I had, it might explain my crazy nature. I just say, "I'm high on life."
Anyway, it was a great visit!
:)
