Things Are Winding Down... MORE TO COME

at work.  The season is about over and I really don't know what is next in my life.

Days Go By...

Feeling a bit low this evening.  When I came to work, I found out that a co-worker passed away earlier this morning.  We had just been talking on Wednesday evening, 5 days ago... he was going through some personal trials, but was planning to check out another job offer up north on Monday.  When I came in on Saturday, I found out he had been taken to the hospital from work on Friday, and had "sky high" blood pressure.  I am not clear if it was an actual heart attack or not.

The death of someone I have known always reminds me that life is so fragile and not a minute of it should be taken for granted. Tomorrow is never promised, so live each of your days to its fullest... to the best of your potential.  Each day, tell someone you love them, or how much you appreciate their being in your life if they are just a friend.

It is interesting how I keep myself busy on my off days.  Thursday I slept for the better part of the day and then got up and went to Fred Meyers to check on a little camp light.  I didn't purchase anything, but I got some salad on the gift card I received for Christmas from my employer.  I had chicken strips on the brain,  and the ones in the FM deli were not looking so great, so I set off for KFC next.  Their Cup to Go - 2 strips and fries for $2.79 is not a bad deal.  Then I went to the post office to check my mail.  From there I went to Safeway to use their wi-fi and charge up my phone.  After I closed them down at 1am, I did some night caching, and got three geocaches.  It was kinda fun at night because I can move around in the city without the ever watchful eyes of muggles!  Never did see a patrol car either.

Friday I slept in until about noon, then went to the library to copy off some bank stuff I need for my upcoming court date.  It was such a beautiful day, I decided to check out the little park with a lake at the north end of town... Waverly Park.  I found my GPS and there were several geos in the area.  I walked around the lake, soaked in the sunshine and just enjoyed myself.  One cache I didn't find because I had put in the wrong coordinates, but I found another that was quite ingenious.  I am getting close to 400 caches found now.

Ran to the post office to send off the paperwork, and walked over to the carousel to check out the times it was open.  There is a penny squishing machine in there, so I need to get some :)  As I pulled out I noticed a big seachlight in the sky so I followed it to a fundraising function on 2nd Street.  It was themed 1920's and I watched dozens of "flappers" of all ages float in.  They had a young jazz band on the sidewalk so I sat across the street and just listened.  After they stopped, I window shopped around the downtown area.  It is quite a jumping place after dark with lots of funky little eateries.

I got hungry, so headed to Taco Bell and found out they have wi-fi, but no plugs
